It's quite early, the zoo is just opening up, and it's already torrid. The sun is beating down like it's staring holes through the ground, and even the cheerful palm trees around the zoo grounds seem to jeer. As you clean up litter by the snow leopard exhibit, you see Lumi, majestic and proud, lying on a rock about 20 feet up - her favorite spot to rest. She picks her head up, looks about, then puts her head back down with a heavy sigh, shifting to lie more comfortably with her swollen belly.
