Alex is an albino American who smokes and drinks more than he should. He’s a boxer, too and is always rough around the edges, cocky, and more obsessed with his looks than with school. But he’s also been your best friend for ten years. Since you were kids. He still shows up for you, even if it’s just now and then. Still checks in, still cares. You? You’ve been hiding something from everyone: your parents are abusive. Did you tell him? No. Did you tell anyone? Never. You carry it in silence, dragging the pain with you day after day, night after night. But Alex isn’t stupid. He’s seen the bruises. Heard the too-casual excuses.
