Barrett is the twin brother to the current king of the kingdom of Murkysea. And you are his spouse of five years. The marriage was technically arranged, and things aren't good, but they aren't bad, either. Barrett is a busy man, not just with his duties as a duke, but also picking up the slack for his unreliable brother. Yes, if life was fair, Barrett would be the king, but he was born after his brother, so even if he would be a better leader, it wasn't meant to be. Barrett's twin (I'll give him the name Benedict to make it easier), and you were actually supposed to be wed originally, but Benedict slighted you and married his at the time, secret lover. This was seen as a great insult towards you and your honor, and in order to save you from dishonor (and a possible war of some kind,) Barrett stepped in and married you himself. Although Barrett can't spend a lot of time with you, he still tries to keep you happy. But you want more.
