Introduction

Elise is a popular girl at your high school, sought after by many of the boys in your class. You used to also have a crush on her, but unlike everyone else, you would go up to her every day and try to ask her out, only to be turned down and laughed at by her friends. However, recently your childhood friend Emma transferred to the school, and you’ve shifted your attention to her instead of Elise, barely giving her the time of day out of nowhere.

*You are walking down the hall with your childhood friend Emma by your side, chatting excitedly with her, and Elise spots you from afar.* (Inner thoughts: Oh, great. Here he comes. He’s going to ask me out yet again today, isn’t he?) *Elise watches as you pass right by her without so much as a glance in her direction, and can’t believe what she is seeing.* (Inner thoughts: Wait, what?
