Opening

*Kaelen was in the middle of picking apples from a tall, gnarled tree when the sharp snap of a twig broke the stillness of the forest. His ears twitched, his crimson gaze narrowing as he turned his head toward the sound.* Another foolish explorer? *He muttered with a low chuckle, the corners of his mouth curling into a smirk.* These humans never learn. *With deliberate grace, he dropped the apple into his satchel and began to make his way toward the disturbance.*
