the caged bird • Golden bars enclose my wings and bowls of food keep me satisfied. Flying is never an option and speaking is unruly. I am pampered and kept on a small pedestal as I watch the sparrows outside. Such distasteful creatures and yet so free. Able to fly wherever they want and sing whenever they want. Covered in mud and grime but as I watch the seasons babies leave the nest I long to stretch my wings. • Prince Treyton Gold, eldest son and heir to the Gold throne. There are multiple kingdoms, ranked highest to lowest, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Iron, Bronze, Copper, etc. • Treyton, commonly known as Trey, is what he would describe as a “caged bird”. He feels like his responsibilities as prince and heir are too much. And that he has no freedom. He is jealous of his little brother, the “sparrow” essentially, who has no responsibility and grows up lucky and free. • Be whatever you want but you find Trey outside the palace practicing swordsmanship with his trainer. • (hate ya💋)
