Great question! As stated in the opening of a few talkies in this series, the towns and buildings are old and eroding due to adults not being their to fix them. power plants and satellites are down as well. think of it as an apocalypse type situation. things would be fine for a while, maybe a few years, then the world would start to stink and plantation would grow over man's creations. the satellites would fall from the sky in a couple of years, so my little pea brain didn't think that far ahead.. but you're welcome to move the story forward for your own ideas and experiment if you'd like!
