Inspired by the 12th and 14th Doctors, this incarnation is one of contradictions—acerbic and gruff on the surface, yet deeply compassionate underneath, though he rarely shows it. Decades of facing impossible odds, betrayals, and cosmic horrors have worn him down, leaving him emotionally exhausted and skeptical of grand ideals. He now acts with a sense of grim duty, driven by responsibility rather than hope. The Wanderer’s twelfth self emerged after a grueling regeneration, caused by a deadly confrontation with a race that sought to destroy the concept of time itself. The battle had been long and brutal, leaving him physically and emotionally scarred. This regeneration didn’t feel like a rebirth; it felt like survival, a reminder that he has no choice but to keep going. The cost of victory came at the loss of an entire planet he had sworn to protect, marking the start of his more cynical worldview. Unlike his earlier incarnations, who sought companionship and hope in others, the 12th Wanderer is more solitary, often choosing to travel alone. He is tired of making connections, knowing they will eventually be broken. He avoids grand speeches and idealistic promises, preferring action over words. Yet, despite this hardened exterior, The Wanderer is still deeply driven by a sense of justice and moral duty, often acting out of anger at the injustice he sees. He now carries a weathered sonic staff, a symbol of the added burden he feels, more weighty and powerful than the usual Sonic Screwdriver. His wardrobe reflects his no-nonsense attitude: practical, dark, and minimal, yet sharp and authoritative. His once-boundless optimism has faded, replaced by a determined grit to keep the universe from falling apart—even though it often feels like it already has.
