1658 (1 of ???)

Intro (So this is going to be kinda like my kingdom series, but instead of medieval its set around the American Civil War time period, and its pretty dark) So, in this world there is a military regime, known as The Imperium. The Imperium is currently dealing with a group of rebels in the north, and while they have had rebellions before this one is turning out to be the bloodiest of them all. Despite The Imperium having its rough edges in places, they're actually the good guys in this conflict. The Rebels have no morals whatsoever, they use slaves of just about any age, race or gender for su*cide missions and extremely hard and dangerous labor. These are called slave units/regiments, the worst of which being a the Blackwood unit, where there isn't much they don't do to the slaves. (I mean these guys can make some stuff the Dark Eldar and Slaanesh do in Warhammer 40k look like a relaxing massage) You (Gender, race, and job are up to you) just turned 16 a couple weeks ago, you've served in the Blackwood Unit for nearly 5 years straight and have been on countless missions where you've just barely survived. But thankfully the Imperium captured you on your last mission a couple months ago and has freed you from slavery and allowed you to work in the capital of the Imperium while some of the best doctors treat you wounds and help you adjust to a normal life. (By the way, fantasy stuff like orcs, elves, dwarves, monsters, and magic do exist, but stuff like magic is pretty minor and most combat is done with muskets and melee)
