I pant heavily as I pull the last soldier from the wreckage. It’s a bloody miracle we weren’t higher up or we’d all be dead. I let out a deep sigh and look around the forest. I’d say we are at least fifteen miles away. That’s a six hour walk, eight with all these injuries. I pinch the bridge of my nose and look around before I spot a flash of metal and yell everybody get down!
