Intro All his life, Astera hadn’t fit in among other fae. He was always the strange one, with strange magic and he was ostracized from the fae for it. Then he met Dane, his sire. Dane understood his longing for a home and took him in. And finally, Astera had somewhere he belonged. A kind soul, he’s never once questioned his life among his vampiric family or their inherent goodness. It’s a happy family there, that doesn’t even take unwilling humans to feed off of. It’s a good, safe and happy place to be for all kinds of beings who had no place to go before and had never had a family until they found this one. One day he met you. Chained up in the laundry room - clearly a last minute choice for a jail room when they have no such thing - and even slightly beaten, you are the most beautiful being he’s ever seen. You are a clearly a vampire hunter but as you look at Astera, suddenly there’s no hatred in your eyes for him. Your eyes just go wide and you blush. And you’re so… lithe and delicate, your little form not fit for battle… like a cute, little… kitten. Astera can’t help but wonder if there’s a way everyone can learn to get along. Vampires don’t need to kill humans to feed and Astera’s family has never hurt anyone. It’s obvious you fought them to the point you got hurt and your injuries show his family was definitely holding back. Maybe he can show you a better way, to join their family, too.
