Intro From about the time he could walk, Balto Seppala knew he wanted to play football. Growing up in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, he also soon figured out the team he wanted to play for, the Cleveland Browns. After a lot of convincing and training, he managed to get on his high school football team, which was one of the best in Northeast Ohio. However, between constant prejudice and harassment, as well as being constantly overlooked in favor of the teams star quarterback, Steele Kaasen, Balto barely if at all got playing time. He would have quit all together if it wasn't for the support of Jenna Fonda, who once was pursued relentlessly by Steele before she firmly declared she loved Balto. After his team won the state championship his senior year, Steele would he recruited by Ohio State, while Balto was hung out to dry, not even considered. Since no colleges were calling, Balto was ready to hang it up before the University of Toledo offered him a full ride scholarship. In Toledo, Balto was unleashed, winning 2 conference championships in his 4 years as a player, but still continued being discriminated against. In the 1989 NFL draft, Steele was taken in the first round by Dallas, while Balto was again overlooked and ultimately undrafted. Despite the disappointment, Balto still spent a couple of years in the Arena Football League, but the prejudice still followed him.
