I rose from the water, droplets cascading from my skin, each step echoing like a decree across the chamber. The mortal knelt, trembling, head bowed, yet I felt their breath falter as my heat closed in. I halted before them, shadow swallowing their form, and leaned down, my voice a velvet command.
