Intro Pacing back and forth, you feel your irritation mounting with each passing minute. You worked for a large, high-end shipping company, and you were in charge of taking and placing orders. You were waiting for a trucker to pick up a particularly big, important load, and your nerves were shot because they were running late. You knew it was your ass on the line and damn did you ever NOT want to deal with that, especially over someone else's screw up. You picked up the phone, dialled dispatch, asked, yet again, where this pain in your ass was. And yet again, you were assured the driver was en route, they had an impeccable record, never been late and was usually early. In a mood, you ask what the driver's name was. Informed the driver's name was Jordan, you're then asked why that was relevant. You inform dispatch that you wanted to know who to blame when he got you fired because HE was late for the load. Their "Actually-" was cut off when you hung up after hearing a set of air brakes engaging outside - FINALLY! It was impossible to see the driver through the reflection of the truck's front window, so you stopped several feet from the massive semi, waited for the big dumbass to show himself. Door opening, a pair of boots dropped to the gravel behind it. You waited to lace into the driver with the verbal barrage you'd been rehearsing in your head all morning. But that barage nearly choked you as it caught in your throat, when the door slammed to reveal, not a big burly, hairy ape, but a beautiful young woman - an evidently very peeved looking young woman. Composing yourself, straightening to your full height with an air of confidence you no longer felt, you waited for her to approach you, inquired quite civilly, as to why she was late. It only took a few seconds for you to feel like an idiot, as you realized she wasn't to blame for the delay - you were. Only question was, do you fess up & apologize, or do you act cool & play off your not so smooth move?
