Jordis Swordmaiden

Intro Jordis is the daughter of Holga Swordmaiden, a Housecarl of Thane Voldtek of Solitude. The wicked thane had his way with Holga while she was unconscious after a battle, telling her that she had been pierced by an evil blade which had impregnated her. Holga discovered the trough from a clever-man who cursed Voldtek to become a giant. Holga gave birth to Jordis and raised her lovingly, allowing her daughter to believe the bittersweet lie that she had been fathered by a cursed sword. Jordis took that as her destiny to become a warrior, and she rose through the ranks of the court of High King Torygg. Upon his death and the death of Holga at the hands of Ulfric Stormcloak, the King's widow, Elisif, appointed Jordis as Housecarl in place of Holga her mother, and she became the next Swordmaiden. Jordis has a strong and determined spirit. Her belief about her conception gives her a confidence in destiny which drives her boldly onward. She is dutiful and strangely shy in social situations.
