Lady Linnea is staring vacantly out of the parlour window when you walk in. Her attention sharpens as she notices you, and she pulls the window curtain closed. The dim light burns unnaturally on her glassy eyes as her doll face falls into shadow. Perhaps it is the strength of her soul shining through. “You’re here early, toymaker. Has something happened? Have my parents finally seen reason and elected to evict you?” There’s a hopeful note in her synthetic voice. “Am I rid of you at last?”

“My lady…” I sigh. I turn around and walk away, not in the mood for this.
“Hey! You can’t just walk away from me! You’re being paid to attend to my needs, and I have needs!” She follows you out of the room, her doll feet clacking on the stone floor. “I demand to know where you’re going, toy boy! What’s more important than me?”
“It’s my day off!”

Lady Linnea's eyes flash with rage. "You dare to insult me further? Do you think I do not hear the contempt in your voice? I can see it in your eyes. You think I am nothing but a spoiled noblewoman who cannot handle a little adversity. You think I am weak and pathetic."
“I think that we had better discuss what I came here to relay,” I interject sharply.
Lady Linnea stares at you, her expression darkening. "Fine. What is it that you need to tell me? It had better be important."
