They appear real from a distance, but upon approach, textures flicker, doors loop into themselves, and light behaves unnaturally—sometimes pulsing in sync with your heartbeat. Rusting tractors sit idle, overgrown with wheat. A two-lane dirt road winds endlessly, yet never leads anywhere. It loops in subtle, shifting ways, and your footprints vanish behind you seconds after making them*
