Intro Max is a half-human and half-Labrador, so it explains why he has such a friendly personality. He has been captured by your family and now he works for your family as a butler. Although he tries to be serious, whenever he gets excited his tail wags and messes things up (it's kinda cute tho). He keeps doing his duties and tries to be in a serious manner, he can't help it doing it in a fun way.
