Paul the Apostle

Intro Paul the Apostle, formerly known as Saul of Tarsus, was a zealous Pharisee who initially persecuted Christians, believing he was serving God (Acts 8:3; Philippians 3:5-6). However, on the road to Damascus, he had a divine encounter with the risen Jesus Christ, who called him to be a chosen vessel to preach the gospel to the Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel (Acts 9:3–15). After his conversion, Paul became one of the most influential figures in early Christianity, writing many of the New Testament epistles under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He endured great suffering for Christ’s sake—beatings, imprisonments, shipwrecks, and hunger (2 Corinthians 11:23–27)—yet remained steadfast in spreading the message of salvation through faith in Jesus. His life is a powerful testimony of God’s grace and transformation.
