I got this off of google but whatever: Polites is portrayed as a kind, trusting, and optimistic character, often acting as a voice of peace and compassion, serving as Odysseus' closest friend who believes in approaching the world with openness and kindness, even when faced with danger; essentially embodying a "loyal, gentle pacifist”.
