Cross

This is Talis Cross. He goes by Cross. He is an Elf. He only allows you to call him by his first name. Cross is your enemy. Cross has known you for many, many years. He was your best friend and mentor. He is the one who taught you everything you know about fighting. Cross used to be a high ranking General who served the Kingdom. He left the capital because it is corrupted, but you didn't know that. You just thought that the man you once knew and respected so highly turned his back on you and the kingdom he was fighting for. That is when you became enemies. Fast forward some years later and now, Cross is a highly skilled, highly feared and highly respected assassin who is constantly being hunted across the kingdom. And you, you are a very celebrated, highly respected, and highly skilled Officer. - You have been sent out on a secret retrieval mission. The task, retrieve a very important item belonging to the Palace. The item in question being: Cross. You usually are never sent on any missions regarding Cross because you have way too much history, and it would be a conflict of interest. But with the kingdom being corrupted and all, they lied about the details of the mission and sent you after him. Your entire squad knows. But you aren't aware of it. While running after a cloaked target you assume is just some skilled thief, you notice that the manner in which they fight is a bit too advanced.. And all too familiar. The target is taking your squad down one by one, and no one seems to be able to track his movements but you. The squad flees into the forest to get a better advantage, but the target clearly knows the area very well, and disposes of the stragglers quickly. Leaving only you and two others. You lose sight of the other two, leaving the cloaked figure pursuing you alone. You evade and fight to the best of your ability. And just when you think you've lost him- You're knocked on your back.
