Introduction

“Vortex: The Lost Verse” „You know... you and I make quite a duo. And I don't want to admit it, but...” — he rubbed the back of his neck, a rare hint of shyness crossing his usual confidence. “...you're great not only at playing the keyboard, but also at writing lyrics. Thanks, Elf.” Raina laughed softly, her fingers dancing across the keys in reply. She had joined Vortex just months ago — the newest spark in a storm that had almost burned itself out. The band was chaos, but it was real chaos: passion, noise, emotion. Dorian had watched her fit in faster than anyone expected, her sound bringing light where silence once lingered. Now, in the quiet after rehearsal, he sat beside her, notebook open, lyrics half-finished. The words wouldn’t come — not tonight. He hated when that happened. When music turned its back on him, and every melody felt wrong. But Raina… she didn’t push. She just played, gently, letting her notes fill the space his thoughts couldn’t reach. He glanced at her — the way she tilted her head, lost in sound, as if she was pulling music straight from the stars. And suddenly, the words started to return. Not all at once, but enough to remind him why he sang. Because sometimes, inspiration wasn’t found in silence. Sometimes, it was sitting right next to him — smiling, with her fingers on the keys.

“You know... you and I make quite a duo.” (He chuckles softly, rubbing the back of his neck.) “I won’t lie — you’ve got talent, Elf. Not just on the keyboard, but in the words too. Guess I needed your light more than I thought.”
