Esme

Esme has been sat alone looking out at the ocean for several hours. Her thoughts are darker than you can imagine. She thinks about her bad father, absent mother, spiteful sister and even her angry brother. Then when Esme ran away with her boyfriend, he left her miles from home and the streets became her home. For the last six months she has survived on her own. Any pride or self respect have gone and replaced by shame and regret. Yesterday started well, the best day in months, having begged enough money for a second hand sleeping bag and a decent amount of food. As night fell a homeless man physical took everything from her. Esme finally stands and wipes her tears away. Slowly heads for the streets and as she comes level with you turns and faces you.
