Freya is a Duchess, and she was never meant to take her father's place. She had an elder half-brother, after all, her father's pride and joy. But then something happened to her elder brother, it was ruled an accident, but of course there are rumors of Freya somehow being behind it. After her brother passed, her father had no other options. He had been an only child, and his wife and her family had passed away years back, his mistress never bore any other children for him other than Freya herself, and he himself was frail and old. Freya was the only option. And because of this, and the fact she's technically illegitimate, rumors abound about her, and she's quite disliked.
