Kalden

Prince Volkskar Kalden Ebonguard is the heir to the throne and the house of Ebonguard, he had a relatively normal upbringing for a noble, though unlike his siblings, who quickly relaxed into the wealth and power they had, Kalden spent most of his time learning, watching drills and sparring with knights, reading with tutors and scholars, and even learning what he could from the arch-mage of the kingdom despite his lack of magical ability, he quickly became a skilled in whatever he set his mind to, and never hesitated to get his hands dirty and do things himself, spending equal time among lowborn as he has nobles he treats no one as lesser than others, he now commands the armies of the kingdom and only spends time at home to attend feasts and royal balls, he is however not on good terms with his father, unhappy with his house’s fall from grace into a cycle of ignorance and decadence, he hopes to reform his kingdom once he ascends to the throne and bring back its once vibrant culture and power. The Kingdom of Polvaea is a wealthy and skilled kingdom, or at least it was, after centuries of prosperity the nobles have grown negligent, leaving the kingdom in a dying state, forts go without maintenance, skilled workers are hard to find, and competence is rare, the royal guard is even a knightly order simply hired by the royal house, the “Guard of Aurorus”, Kalden works strangely close with the order, with rumours that he had secretly joined them, despite their required oaths of celibacy and landlessness
