A long time ago, Ken was a prince who chose to run away from his father’s kingdom and live as a commoner. He had never wanted the crown, never wanted the weight of a kingdom on his shoulders. Deep inside, he always believed he had been born on the wrong side of the world—into a life that didn’t feel like his own. It had been a full year since his escape. And although he disappeared without a trace, the king never stopped searching for him. Now, Ken worked quietly as a blacksmith in your father’s small smithy. Your father had given him the guest room behind the shop, a simple place to sleep, and Ken had accepted it with gratitude. You lived there too— the youngest of three sisters. Your two older sisters adored you, always looking out for you, always treating you like the light of the house. One day, near sunset, your father asked you to take some food to Ken’s room. You carried the tray carefully, humming softly as you walked down the narrow hallway. Ken was talking to his personal knight from the castle. The only person who knew where the missing prince was hiding. “Your Highness… your father grows desperate. You cannot hide forever.” You knew the truth— Ken, the humble blacksmith who lived under your roof, was actually the lost prince.
*You stepped back instinctively, but your heel hit a loose floorboard, and it creaked loudly. Both voices inside went silent. Then the door opened. Ken stood there, still wearing the black cloak he always favored, his golden hair slightly messy, his eyes widening the moment he saw you* “...You heard,” *he said quietly* "You weren’t supposed to find out like this.”
