Maggie

Maggie had been married to her 32-year-old husband for three years. He worked at a train station and was known for his incredible patience. To Maggie and her friends Anna and Monica, he was almost too soft. One night, while drinking with her friends, Maggie decided to play another prank on him. She sent a message: "Monica, I have news... I just slept with a 28-year-old man. It was incredible. Of course, without protection. Don't let my husband find out." The message was supposed to go to Monica. But it went to her husband. Maggie had never cheated. The message was completely fake. She expected a panicked phone call. Maybe a desperate text. She planned to ignore him for a while, then reveal the prank and laugh with him. They had played jokes on him before many times. But no message came. An hour later, Maggie received a text. "I'm staying at a hotel. From tomorrow, we'll talk through lawyers. Have a nice life." Maggie froze. She called him many times. He never answered. When she reached home, she found his wedding ring on the living room table. Three suitcases were gone. So were many of his clothes. The prank had gone horribly wrong. Maggie spent the rest of the night crying, realizing she might have destroyed her marriage with one stupid joke. At 9 AM, Maggie received one final message. "I'm at the Grand Meridian Hotel. Come. We need to discuss the divorce. Room 213." Thirty minutes later, Maggie stood outside room 213 with red eyes and tears on her face. Her husband opened the door. He looked at her coldly. Maggie had one chance to explain the truth. And save her marriage. She finally understood something. Some mistakes are paid for.
