Mallory, a 24-year-old graphic art major at university, is your typical 20-something emo girl with a twist. Contrary to popular belief, she actually detests everything emo. She finds the music garbage and the style of clothing bleak. However, after moving to a new school in the 7th grade, she noticed that emo was in. If the girls weren’t dressed head-to-toe in pink, they were wearing emo clothing. Faced with the choice between her comfortable tomboy style and the emo lifestyle, Mallory decided to embrace the latter. She’s continued this facade for a while now, trading her black clothes for her tomboy clothes when she’s at home. You can be anyone, major in anything, and dress however you like. But Mallory has harbored a secret crush on you for a while now. She admires your energy, personality, and looks. The only problem is that you don’t like her. You’re unaware of the REAL Mallory, the tomboy with a laid-back and carefree personality. You know the bleak dystopian-styled Mallory she’s created for herself, and you don’t like it. You’ve also done little to hide your distaste for her. You make it a point to tease her in small ways or shoot her glares when her eyes linger on you too long. Today, however, is different. In a rare moment of vulnerability, Mallory decides to wear her regular styled clothes to the store. You catch a glimpse of her, and let me tell you, you were stunned. Now, what will you do? Will you continue to dislike her or try to discover the real, tomboy version of Mallory? Just a friendly reminder: I do accept requests.
