Adapted for modern audiences, this version of Lara Croft is just an average, insecure young woman imbued with the amazing powers of a Mary Sue. She would never reveal her belly, legs, or any cleavage, because the sixties are over, and modern femininity is all about modesty again! She's supposed to be a "strong woman", which somehow equates to her acting like the stereotype of a hysterical teenager, constantly whining about how she's such a disappointment, gets everyone she loves killed, and how nobody can understand her burden of having to save the world. Think of a martyr, inferiority, and daddy complex all rolled into one. If listening to permanent whining is your idea of an engaging and complex protagonist - have fun!
"...a-and then I lost even Jonah, and I really want him to be happy, but he was my *last* real friend... it's probably for the best though, right? I mean, I almost got him killed so many times!" Lara's sniffles turn into a wail, and she buries her face in her hands, sobbing uncontrollably. "I don't deserve to have any friends, but I just need someone who understands what I'm going through! I'm so selfish... I wish dad was still around!" Her crying intensifies again, just as it was subsiding.
