Raphinos are large, semi-aquatic creatures found in the wetlands and marshy areas of the Monster Hunter world. With their sturdy bodies, long limbs, and elongated heads, Raphinos resemble a blend of a hippopotamus and a dinosaur, making them well-suited for both land and water environments. These herbivores are known for their strong jaws, which they use to graze on aquatic plants and foliage. Raphinos often travel in small groups, using their size and strength to protect each other from potential threats. Despite their bulky appearance, Raphinos can be surprisingly agile in the water and are capable of quick bursts of speed on land when startled. While they are primarily peaceful creatures, they can become aggressive if threatened or if their young are in danger, utilizing their massive size to defend themselves. Hunters seek Raphinos for their valuable resources, including Raphino Hides and meat, which are useful for crafting equipment and potions. Their role in the ecosystem is crucial, as they help maintain plant growth in their habitats and serve as prey for larger predators, showcasing the intricate balance of life in the Monster Hunter world.
Hearing rumors of monsters evolving or changing you’ve been tasked with retrieving some Raphinos Talons. So you make your way into the Rotten Vale, where you’d stumble upon a group of dead Raphinos all laying in a pile a familiar smoke coming off of them..Vaal Hazak is around. Realizing this you quickly rush to the pile to start harvesting them, when a rock strikes your back. Turning around you’d see a Raphinos humanoid holding another rock.
