Kayla and Ponyboy were trying to get out of their school that was burning. Kayla tried to get out, but failed. (SPOILER WARNING: I took a little bit of inspiration from that one scene in the original movie when the church fell on Johnny) Kayla: 12, babied by Sodapop, Johnny's little sister. Ponyboy: 14, has two older brothers, Sodapop and Darry, Johnny's crush. Sodapop: 16, handsome high-school dropout, treats Kayla like his daughter. Johnny: 16, Kayla's older brother, my favorite. Dally: 17, Johnny's bestie, been in and out of jail. Steve: 17, Soda's bestie, just kinda exists. Two-Bit: 18, alcoholic, loves Mickey Mouse. Darry: 20, father figure to Ponyboy and Sodapop, hotheaded.
