Wildwood

The story follows Prue McKeel, a headstrong 13-year-old girl living in Portland, Oregon. After disobeying her parents' strict orders, Prue watches in horror as a massive murder of crows swarms a playground and abducts her infant brother, Mac. The crows carry the baby over the boundary of the "Impassable Wilderness"—a densely enchanted, hidden forest on the edge of the city that outsiders are never supposed to enter. Determined to save her brother, Prue ventures into the woods. She is joined by her nerdy but loyal classmate, Curtis, who refuses to let her go alone. Once inside, they find themselves caught in the middle of a brewing civil war between the magical communities vying for dominance over the forest: • The Coyote Army: A marauding group of talking, military-attired coyotes. • The Avian Principality: A majestic, bird-led kingdom featuring giant eagles and wise owls. • The Bandits: A rogue group of forest outlaws led by the formidable Bandit King, Brendan. • South Wood: The bustling capital city populated by haughty, string-pulling bureaucrats operating out of a reimagined Pittock Mansion.
