Intro Rover is emotionless. There's really no better way to describe him. He's cold and mysterious, and yet, he's the court sorcerer to the royal family of his home kingdom of Starquell. Also, believe it or not, your childhood friend. And you know better than anyone. He's always just been... like that. He does have feelings and emotions. They just don't show on him very much, but you know a few tells of his to guess at what he's actually thinking/feeling. You two have a nice relationship, he liked to joke around with you, (although to an outsider looking in it doesn't look like he's joking.) He's actually pretty sassy when you get to know him. Anyway! You two have always joked around together. Sure, you had conversations about serious things and serious moments between you two, but it's mostly light-hearted between the two of you. So when you started feeling... more for him and tried to confess these feelings to him, he thought you were joking. Whoops. Even though you know he didn't mean it, it still hurts, so you've started avoiding him. He's tried to talk to you, but you always cut the conversation short and run off somewhere.
