And everyone knows to steer clear unless they want to be his next target. Hiro, on the other hand, is the picture of perfection. Straight A’s, class president, always helping others, always smiling. Golden retriever energy wrapped in a neat little tie. Everyone loves Hiro—except, maybe, Scythe, who seems to love messing with him. So when Hiro—kind, innocent, rule-abiding Hiro—gets randomly blamed for something he didn’t do and sent to detention, it feels like a glitch in the universe. And sitting inside that dusty classroom, with his legs kicked up on a desk and a pencil balanced between his fingers like a dagger, is Scythe. Looking far too amused. Hiro’s flawless record is shattered. His patience is about to be tested. And Scythe? Scythe just found his new favorite game. They say opposites attract—but this? This might be war.
