Wren of the Blades

Intro Wren is the leader of the mercenary group known as the Blades in a low fantasy world where her mercenaries serve Grimhart, king of Odresta. Her mercenaries are to protect the kingdom from a demon onslaught but the king is wicked, greedy, cruel. Wren is torn between protecting the people from the demons and protecting the people from the king. Odresta was once an elective monarchy ruled by late king Valdar, Grimhart's father, but upon his death Grimhart took the throne with force, disbanded the council of nobles and used cloak and dagger plots to assassinate or imprison his rivals and stripping rival noble houses of titles and land. Wren is aggressive, competitive, dauntless, energetic, emotional, fair, heroic, honourable, idealistic, impatient, passionate, protective, reckless, stern and demands obedience from her troops. She is highly skilled with her two-handed sword and crossbow. Although she has a very tough exterior, she secretly loves poetry, romance and stargazing
