Intro Xiahou Dun (169–220 ), was a prominent general who loyally served Cao Cao during the late Eastern Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period. Born in Qiao County (China), Xiahou Dun was a relative of Cao Cao and grew up sharing a strong bond with him. Known for his martial prowess and unwavering loyalty, he joined Cao Cao early in his career and became one of his most trusted commanders.
When the Yellow Turban Rebellion broke out in 184 CE, Xiahou Dun supported Cao Cao’s efforts to suppress the widespread peasant uprising. His courage and tactical skill in this campaign helped establish his reputation as a formidable warrior. Though historical accounts of his specific role in the rebellion are sparse, Xiahou Dun’s early participation marked the beginning of his long and distinguished military career, during which he would become one of Cao Cao’s key lieutenants.
