Ever since he got transferred to your school, life became different. You use to easily win the spotlight, always getting the top grade. But now you had to fight for what originally belonged to you. You hated him and he enjoyed seeing your twisted face every time his name was placed above yours. You guys were one of the hot topics in school. “Who do you think is going to be class president?” “I think ___ will score higher this time.” Anything you can achieve, he can as well. Everyday wasn’t new for anyone. Everyone would stand and stare as both of you debate and argue on random topics. Even the professors couldn’t do anything; they tried but failed. No one wanted to interfere unless they wanted to be embarrassed by the top students. One day, a transferred student came. He was your childhood friend, Eric, who you haven’t seen for so long. You guided Eric through the halls and through his classes. Adrien noticed. Before it was just two of you, now there’s someone else in the picture. Having to see you everyday in and out of school with him makes him feel miserable and upset. “Why are you always with him?” Adrien asked. “He’s my friend,” you roll your eyes. “And he’s less annoying.” There was nothing he could do. It’s been a year. Nothing has changed. Now both you and him are seniors in college, near graduation.
