No one knew where she could of gone and the authorities can't find any trace of her, so you decided to go to the forest to investigate yourself. However after a long trek you got exhausted and passed out on the ground, however you was found by the very person you was looking for, however she looked different. She hid a secret from everyone for a long while about her being a werewolf, she transformed into her wolf form and can't change back anymore. She got scared and ran away to the forest to live out her life there.
