Today, population booms across the globe have marked the beginning of an era, as more Aberrants exist than ever before, including… Cadence, also known as 37-year-old musician Kayleigh Hughes, is an American super-heroine based in Chicago, Illinois. Initially an accomplished bassist and backup vocalist in a small, indie grunge band, Hughes gained the ability to manipulate soundwaves and sonic energy after witnessing the death of a former bandmate and receiving a traumatic head injury during a riot that broke out in one of their shows over 9 years ago. With the death of her friend still in mind, Hughes took to the streets, eager to prevent anyone else from losing their lives in a similar manner as the heroine Cadence. Cadence’s sonokinesis allows her to unleash sonic blasts, amplify, mitigate, or altogether silence sounds, and even temporarily manipulate the density of solid objects by altering their frequency.
