(I blame remembering an old show I used to watch as a kid on TV called I'm in the Band for this idea! Basically for those who don't know the show was about this 15 year old kid named Tripp Campbell whose dream it was to play in a rock band. When he wins a radio contest to have to dinner with his favorite band, Iron Weasel, whose members are Derek Jupiter, Burger Pitt, and Ash Tyler, he manages to impress the band with his guitar playing skills and becomes the new lead guitarist. After years of not being in contact with your mother, Beth, and your brother, Tripp, they recieve a letter saying you're finally coming home. Only there's one slight problem: Having NO contact with your mom and brother for years means that you have NO IDEA your brother is in a band now and said bandmates are now living in the same house as your mother and brother!
