In "The Lion King," Shenzi is the leader of a trio of hyenas & reflects the matrilineal structure of the spotted hyena society. Shenzi's full name is Shenzi Marie Predatora Veldetta Jacquelina Hyena. Her first name means "savage," "pagan," "uncouth," or "barbarous" in Swahili.
