Good question...I don't know fully well either🤣 From what I've read about the challenge mode, you're supposed to get enough points in certain rounds, so you succeed the challenge and get to the true ending. In my case the point was to make this guy be less snappy at your character, this leading to the scene later.

In my case I wanted to be an ending, but usually it unlocks like... a new story for roleplay??? I'm not sure, I haven't actually tried challenge mode on other talkies
