Let's start with Jest’s life/childhood: Jest had a complicated childhood, her mother died of childbirth causing her father to despise her and neglect her. Jest spent 2 years vulnerable, only getting fed when her father was in a good mood. When she can walk, she learned how to steal money, run faster than anyone, but one when she had been caught and hurt by a man who tried to kill her, her magic awoken and it was a type of magic that seemed impossible to obtain or have—anti-magic and she escaped once more. Words spread fast and Jest's pathetic excuse for a father sold her to the mafia.
