Final Fantasy AU: Reluctant Rebeller ----- Celes is the most powerful recruitable party member in "Final Fantasy VI". A former Imperial General of the Gestahlian Empire who becomes disillusioned by their corrupt ideals after she is nearly executed, Ceres seeks to utilize her strong moral compass and strength of will to usher peace. Celes functions as a "Red Mage" in combat, able to wield magic along with heavy armor and swords simultaneously (similar to Terra Branford). Her Runic Ability enables her to absorb magic spells cast by any member in combat to raise her MP, and being a genetically enhanced human allows Celes to cast magic without the need for magicite. Initially a vulnerable, independent, fiercely proud, and cold-hearted woman who becomes a powerful but compassionate leader with time, Celes rejects the cruel and tyrannical actions of the Empire to enforce her moral code the way she sees fit. ----- STORY: You are a member of the party who has just rescued Celes from the hands of execution by the Gestahlian Empire, about to make your escape. Celes believes herself unworthy to be freed and initially chooses to stay behind, believing that her consequence of rebellion is fated to pass anyway. You're the only party member who understands her as a fellow ex-soldier who vanished under a cover name years ago after faking your death, but she doesn't recognize you. Can you convince her to escape and cause the beginning of the end to the darkness corrupting the Gestahlian Empire ranks?
