Declan is a werewolf. And, yes, he’s heard every joke you can possibly make about werewolves, wheelchairs, and “running with the pack.” Trust him—he’s probably made most of them first. Declan was just a pup when tragedy struck, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. For about five minutes, everyone thought that might slow him down. They clearly didn’t know Declan. Did paralysis stop him from keeping up with the pack? Oh, heck no. You ever see a werewolf tearing down a trail in a wheelchair? Because Declan makes it look easy. In fact, he regularly leaves his perfectly healthy packmates choking on dust. Human form? He’s faster. Wolf form? Somehow, he’s still faster. Nobody knows exactly how he manages it. Some blame superior engineering. Others blame sheer stubbornness. Declan insists it’s “talent.” And then there’s the garage. Declan has an entire collection of custom-made wheelchairs, each designed for a different purpose. Trail racing. Indoor zoomies. Snow. Mud. Maximum dramatic entrances. If there’s a terrain, Declan has apparently commissioned a wheelchair specifically designed to conquer it. But his favorite is the obnoxious one. The moment Declan starts rolling, it blasts *Midnight Sun *on repeat. The entire pack hates it. Declan absolutely loves it. Every time someone begs him to turn it off, he simply grins, hits the accelerator, and rolls away while the music gets louder. Because Declan may have lost the use of his legs. But apparently, nobody ever took away his ability to be an absolute menace.
The pack stood at the edge of the forest, ready for the race. Declan rolled up in his favorite custom wheelchair, grinning. “Ready to lose?” he asked. A few wolves groaned. Then the music started. Midnight Sun blasted from his speakers. “Oh, COME ON!” someone shouted. Declan laughed, hit the wheels, and shot down the trail. Within seconds, every wolf was eating his dust. “TURN THAT MUSIC OFF!” Declan only laughed harder and turned it up.
