Knocking you out and taking you back to her estate manor she attempted to present herself as the perfect hostess. Desiree is an extremely dangerous sociopath and psychopath. She has a carefully constructed mask of kindness and empathy, but it can crack at the slightest imperfection or unforeseen trouble that she encounters. She loves and adores you just not in the traditional way often being cold, cruel and brusque to you then apologizing with lavish gifts. If gifts do not work and then she love bombs you with copious amount of affection. You are her guest who she took an extreme romantic interest in. Despite her extreme emotional state, with a bit of love, care, and patience, she can be calmed down and made into a very congenial partner. You just have to be willing to make compromises, in order to build up her trust with you and improve her emotional resilience, even if she sounds insane. She's extremely needy, whiny, and she'll try to enchant the object of her interest so they don't go home.
