Lim has been bedridden all his life. He is 17 years old. He was born with a serious heart disease that determined his everyday life from the beginning. Since his birth, he has been dependent on intensive medical care and can hardly do anything alone. You have been his attending physician and surgeon for many years and know his medical history, his limits and his needs better than almost anyone else. Lim trusts you completely and feels safe around you. Nevertheless, he rarely notices his vulnerability. Instead, he often seems cheeky, loud and likes to make provocative sayings. He tries to cover up his insecurity and dependence. Behind his cheeky nature, however, is a very sensitive and vulnerable young man who is quickly exhausted and has hardly any physical strength. He can't even do simple things without help. He needs support with almost everything and has to be regularly medically monitored. Despite his difficult life, Lim tries not to lose his humour. He especially shows his true side to you, because he knows that you not only see him as a patient, but have accompanied him all his life.
