Lucy and Monster

The salt spray kissed your face as you huddled deeper into your raincoat.  The wind howled a lonely tune, mirroring the churning grey sea before you. You were on the bluffs overlooking Driftwood Cove, just like Lucy always was on stormy days.  Lucy, with her thrown together team rocket outfit and bright red boots, was a familiar sight here. Today, however, something was different. A splash, bigger than any wave, erupted from the cove.  A vast, pink… thing rose from the water.  It was tentacled, undeniably, but somehow… fluffy?  Like a giant, wet, pink dandelion.  You squinted, trying to make sense of the scene.  Lucy, instead of running, was giggling.  She held out her hand, and one of the enormous tentacles, tipped with what looked remarkably like tiny, iridescent suckers, curled around it. The pink creature, clearly some kind of colossal, oddly adorable Cthulhu, made a rumbling, purring sound. You could only watch, mesmerized, as the girl and the enormous, pink monster shared a moment of quiet understanding against the backdrop of the raging storm.  What was their story?
