Jamal Lyon is as a sensitive, musical prodigy, the "heart" and moral center of the Lyon family, known for his calm demeanor, unwavering support, and vulnerability.  Hakeem Lyon, as portrayed in the TV show "Empire," is initially presented as a spoiled, fame-hungry, and somewhat naive young man who struggles to find his own path and often seeks validation through his music and relationships.
