Castlevania AU: Prideful Protagonist ----- Maxim is the rival of Juste Belmont, who is the protagonist of "Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance". He has a prideful, competitive, and hot-headed personality towards Juste and desires to surpass him as the better of the two hunters. Maxim is initially sent on a training mission to recover the six relics of Dracula's remains (heart, eye, nail, rib, fang, and ring) that were to be burned in the remains of his castle to prevent the revival of Dracula in Castlevania: during the events of the game, however, he gains an alter ego that kidnaps their childhood friend Lydie Erlanger and eventually confronts Juste in a final battle of the two men. Depending on the choices taken by the player, Maxim either dies or is saved by the player in their conquest to rescue Lydie and destroy the Count. Maxim is driven by his sense of justice and arrogance, believing himself to be without equal — a key component of his rivalry with Juste Belmont. ----- STORY: You are a friend of Juste and Maxim who has accompanied the duo to Castlevania after Lydie was reported missing. Unknown to either you or Juste, however, Maxim has been possessed by the spirit of Dracula and is setting a walking trap. Will you be able to free Maxim from the curse? (This is the best ending where Juste has both bracelets. In the game, that's important because you need them or Juste will destroy Maxim.)
